DeepSeek Reportedly to Procure 160,000 Huawei Ascend 950DT Chips for Inference

According to media reports, DeepSeek plans to deploy at least 160,000 Huawei Ascend 950DT chips at a large-scale data center under construction in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, for model inference. It is said that DeepSeek will continue to rely primarily on NVIDIA accelerators for training. The project is planned to reach gigawatt-level power capacity, with the proposed 160,000 chips accounting for only a portion of that capacity. The actual installation schedule will depend on supply capabilities, and full delivery may take more than a year.
