The server processor supply crisis continues, with both Intel and AMD experiencing significant delivery delays

By: QIN 4 days ago

According to foreign media reports, the supply of server processors in the Chinese market remains tight, leading to extended delivery cycles for both Intel and AMD products.

Industry insiders point out that the supply-demand conflict is particularly severe for Intel's fourth-generation and fifth-generation Xeon Scalable processors (codenamed "Sapphire Speed" and "Emerald Speed," respectively). The company has implemented limited deliveries of this series, resulting in order backlogs lasting up to six months. Meanwhile, the price of Intel server processors in the Chinese market has generally increased by about 10%. In a statement, Intel explained that the rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence has driven strong demand for traditional computing and expects the supply situation to gradually improve starting in the second quarter of 2026.

Meanwhile, delivery cycles for some AMD server processors have also extended to 8-10 weeks. AMD responded that, thanks to its strong supplier agreements and global supply chain system (including its collaboration with TSMC), the company is confident in meeting customer demand.
