CXMT Officially Sues U.S. Department of Defense

CXMT has filed a lawsuit with the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, naming the U.S. Department of Defense and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth as defendants, challenging the legality of its unilateral inclusion on the Section 1260H list. CXMT becomes the seventh Chinese company to launch a legal challenge against the U.S. "Chinese military companies" list, following Xiaomi, AMEC, Hesai, WuXi AppTec, Alibaba, and YMTC. In its complaint, CXMT alleges that the Department of Defense's decision to place it on the so-called "Chinese military-industrial enterprises" list was "arbitrary," lacked evidentiary support, and violated due process. The company is seeking a court order to overturn the designation and remove it from the blacklist. CXMT has made clear that it is not a military-industrial enterprise and has no connection whatsoever to the Chinese military, and that the DRAM chips it designs are used exclusively in civilian and commercial applications such as smartphones, laptops, and servers, not for military purposes.
