Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron Reportedly Accelerating DDR6 Memory Development

By: Andy 2 hours ago

According to a report by a Korean media outlet, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are accelerating the development of DDR6 memory. They have requested substrate suppliers to prepare designs, aiming to produce test samples in order to be ready before DDR6 enters mass production. Based on information from the JEDEC roadmap, DDR6 can achieve speeds of up to 17.6 Gbps, roughly twice the planned maximum speed of DDR5. Commercial DDR6 memory is expected to be launched around 2028–2029.
