AMD unveiled its AI/HPC chip roadmap at the Advancing AI 2026 event. Broadly speaking, the company follows a general cadence of a new CPU generation every two years and a new GPU generation annually.AMD plans to launch its next-generation EPYC server CPUs built on the "Zen 7" microarchitecture in 2028, including multiple variants such as Florence, Ferrara and Fidenza. The Zen 8 microarchitecture-based "Ravenna" is scheduled to arrive in 2030.On the GPU front, the next-generation Instinct accelerator MI500 series will launch as planned next year, while the Instinct MI600 series is slated for release in 2028.
