Huawei, Cambricon and Other Domestic AI Chipmakers Reportedly Raise Prices as HBM Costs Soar

According to foreign media reports citing people familiar with the matter, Chinese AI chipmakers including Huawei and Cambricon have raised prices for their current and next-generation products due to soaring HBF memory costs. It is reported that Huawei has raised the list price of its Ascend 950DT accelerator card to more than 250,000 yuan, with an increase of 20% to 50% compared with quotes provided to customers two months ago, depending on contract terms. Cambricon has raised the price of its next-generation chip (tentatively named 690) by 20% to 30%, without disclosing a specific amount. MetaX and Iluvatar CoreX have also made similar price increases. In addition, prices for Huawei's previous-generation products have also risen, with the Ascend 950PR increasing from about 60,000 yuan per card at the beginning of the year to more than 80,000 yuan, with a rise of about 30%. The price of the Ascend 910C board card also rose from about 90,000 yuan at the beginning of the year to more than 110,000 yuan. The companies concerned have not yet confirmed the news.
