South Korean MSIT to Allocate 3.85 Trillion Won Next Year for Vera Rubin Rack Purchases

By: M 2 hours ago

According to Korean media reports, Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) of South Korea has allocated 3.85 trillion won to expand its GPU server infrastructure next year. The entire budget will be used to procure 140 Vera Rubin NVL72 server racks, with a unit price budget of 27.5 billion won each. It is noted that the government factored in potential price hikes due to GPU shortages and facility costs when formulating the budget. Each NVL72 rack contains 72 Rubin GPUs and 36 Vera CPUs, totaling 10,080 Rubin GPUs. This procurement is separate from MSIT's previously announced plan to purchase 52,000 advanced GPUs by 2028. The actual supply volume may vary slightly depending on NVIDIA's availability.
