Samsung Electronics Plans to Raise Wafer Foundry Prices, 4nm/8nm Processes May See a 10% Increase

According to South Korean media ZDNetKorea, Samsung Electronics plans to raise its wafer foundry service prices, primarily affecting the high-demand 4nm and 8nm processes, with an expected increase of approximately 10%. Currently, capacity for these two processes is tight, and they have entered a stable mass production phase. The report states that this price adjustment is mainly based on two factors: firstly, Samsung's wafer foundry capacity is facing tightness due to continued high demand for these processes; secondly, rising costs of energy and raw materials, as well as price increases by competitors such as TSMC driven by AI orders, have prompted Samsung to adjust its pricing strategy to maintain market competitiveness.
