Former Samsung DS Head: Memory Prices May Reverse and Drop in Second Half of Next Year

According to Korean media reports, Kyung Kye-hyun, a standing adviser and former head of Samsung Electronics' Device Solutions (DS) division, stated at a forum of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) in Seoul on May 18 that Chinese companies are actively expanding production capacity. As memory supply surges, the market landscape could shift in the second half of next year or the first half of 2028, with memory chip prices expected to begin declining from the second half of next year. He also warned that if the return on AI investment falls short of market expectations, there could even be a risk of demand contraction after 2028.
