The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) reported that global semiconductor industry sales increased 19.3% year over year to $49.1 billion in May 2024.
By region, the Americas market grew 43.6% year on year; China and Asia Pacific/All other regions also increased by 24.2% and 13.8% respectively compared to the same period last year. Japan and Europe fell 5.8 percent and 9.6 percent, respectively.
SIA predicts that global semiconductor industry sales are expected to increase to $611.2 billion in 2024, and further increase to $687.4 billion in 2025, setting a new record.
