SK Hynix Increases Investment in Cheongju P&T7 Project to Meet Surging AI Memory Demand

According to South Korean media outlet inews24, SK Hynix has increased its investment in the Cheongju P&T7 project to 7.0931 trillion won (approximately $4.8 billion) to proactively address the growing demand for AI memory. The additional funds will be used to accommodate increased production volumes and accelerate the cleanroom opening schedule.

P&T7 is an advanced back-end manufacturing facility dedicated to the packaging and testing of AI memory products, such as High Bandwidth Memory (HBM). It is responsible for packaging DRAM chips produced at the nearby M15X fab into finished HBM products.
