TSMC Reportedly Unable to Package $1 Billion Worth of Apple A20 Pro SoCs Due to DRAM Shortage

According to media reports, TSMC, which is manufacturing the new A20 Pro SoCs for Apple's upcoming iPhones, has been unable to proceed with subsequent packaging and testing due to an ongoing DRAM shortage. As a result, CPU modules of approximately $1 billion worth of A20 Pro SoCs are currently sitting in TSMC's warehouses. Although Apple has actively explored various channels to secure DRAM supply, none of these efforts have been successful. With its DRAM woes becoming more and more apparent, there's a possibility that the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could be delayed.
