Microsoft CFO: 2027 Full-Year Capital Expenditures to Reach $170 Billion

Microsoft Chief Financial Officer, Amy Hood, said on the earnings call for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 that due to capacity constraints, the company targets capital expenditures and finance lease costs of more than $50 billion in the second fiscal quarter, while capital expenditures for the entire calendar year 2027 will reach $170 billion. In the second half of the fiscal year, capital expenditures are expected to accelerate, mainly driven by CPUs and GPUs that include higher memory and storage costs, as well as third-party capacity deferred for delivery to the second half of the fiscal year.
