Micron Launches GDDR7 DRAM with Breakthroughs in Bandwidth and Energy Efficiency

Micron announced the launch of a new 24Gb (3GB) GDDR7 DRAM product, boasting a data rate of 32Gb/s and a system bandwidth of 1.5TB/s, representing a 60% improvement over GDDR6. This product is the industry's first DRAM to utilize PAM3 third-order signal processing, offering 1.5 times more encoded information per cycle compared to GDDR6's NRZ technology, while maintaining voltage margin and low power consumption. It also features high reliability (RAS) characteristics, covering diverse scenarios such as gaming, HPC, VR, and edge AI inference.
