On March 17th, NVIDIA announced a partnership with leading automakers such as BYD, Geely, Nissan, and Isuzu to advance the mass production of Level 4 autonomous driving based on the NVIDIA DRIVE Hyperion platform. BYD and Geely are focusing on Level 4 autonomous driving for passenger vehicles, while Isuzu is collaborating with TIER IV to develop Level 4 autonomous buses.
Simultaneously, NVIDIA is expanding its partnership with Uber, planning to deploy a fleet of Robotaxi powered by NVIDIA DRIVE AV software in 28 cities across four continents by 2028, with ride-hailing platforms such as Bolt and Grab also integrating the technology. This collaboration, leveraging a mature technology platform, can shorten automakers' development cycles and drive the large-scale mass production of Level 4 autonomous driving around 2027.
