Micron Begins Mass Production of HBM4 and Next-Generation Storage Products

By: QIN 13 hours ago

Micron Technology recently announced at GTC 2026 that it began mass shipping HBM4 36GB 12H memory designed specifically for the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform in the first quarter of 2026. This product offers data transfer rates exceeding 11 Gb/s and provides over 2.8 TB/s of bandwidth, a 2.3x increase in bandwidth and a 20% improvement in energy efficiency compared to the previous generation HBM3E. In addition, Micron has delivered samples of HBM4 48GB 16H to customers, representing a 33% increase in capacity per chip.

Simultaneously, Micron launched the industry's first mass-produced PCIe Gen6 data center SSD (Micron 9650), with sequential read speeds of up to 28 GB/s, twice the performance of Gen5, and optimized for the NVIDIA BlueField-4 architecture. 192GB SOCAMM2 memory designed specifically for Vera Rubin has also entered mass production, supporting up to 2TB of memory capacity and 1.2 TB/s bandwidth per CPU.
