Micron CEO: Cars Will Need Over 300GB of RAM

According to foreign media, Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said that cars will eventually require more than 300GB of RAM as automakers introduce vehicles that have L4 autonomy. Modern vehicles currently operate with relatively modest memory configurations, typically around 16GB. However, the transition toward L4 autonomy introduces substantially higher computational demands. These systems rely on continuous sensor input, real-time data processing, and advanced AI algorithms to navigate complex driving environments without human intervention. As a result, vehicles are effectively evolving into mobile AI platforms that require large amounts of high-speed memory to function efficiently.
