Counterpoint: Global PC Shipments Grew 3.2% YoY in Q1 2026

By: QIN 3 hours ago

According to preliminary data from Counterpoint Research, global PC shipments grew 3.2% year-on-year to reach 63.3 million units in the first quarter of 2026. The growth was primarily driven by two factors: preemptive purchases ahead of anticipated memory price hikes, and hardware replacement demand spurred by the end of support for Windows 10.

Looking at the competitive landscape, the top five manufacturers collectively account for nearly 80% of the global PC market share. The high-end market continues to consolidate, while shipments from smaller OEMs have remained flat or declined. Among them, Lenovo's shipments increased by 9% year-on-year to 16.5 million units, achieving a market share of 26%, the best performance for the same period in its history; HP's shipments decreased by 5% year-on-year but still maintained its second-place position; Dell's shipments increased by 8% year-on-year, mainly driven by commercial PC replacements; Apple's shipments increased by 11% year-on-year to 6.7 million units, benefiting from the first shipments of the new MacBook in March; and ASUS saw a significant increase of 20% year-on-year to 4.8 million units, demonstrating the strongest performance.
