Over the past six months, NAND Wafer spot prices have generally trended significantly higher. Compared to last October, the cumulative price increase for 1Tb QLC/TLC has exceeded threefold, with the unit price approaching $0.2/GB. The 512Gb TLC has recorded a nearly fivefold price surge, with the unit price already surpassing $0.3/GB. Similarly, after several consecutive months of increases for LPDDR4X resources, the bare resource cost alone has now exceeded $1.50/Gb. Driven by the continuously rising procurement costs of new resources, prices for embedded eMMC and LPDDR4X have seen broad increases this week. Although memory manufacturers are constantly updating and raising finished product prices due to the high cost of resources, which will inevitably lead to reduced demand in related application segments, maintaining relatively stable profit margins remains a top priority for the enterprises themselves.
It is worth noting that the substantial price increases for embedded products are reshaping the landscape of downstream application markets, and the customer portfolios of memory manufacturers are consequently facing a realignment. Looking ahead, their product strategies are expected to focus more intently on high-value application fields such as robotics, drones, 3D printing, and smart POS terminals.
