FADU Launches Direct-Supply Model for SSD Controllers, Targeting Global Hyperscale Giants

By: Andy 1 day ago
FADU CEO Nam Yi-hyun announced that the company will begin supplying samples of its seventh-generation (Gen7) solid-state drive (SSD) controllers in 2028.

While FADU has not disclosed the specific specifications of the Gen7 SSD controllers, the company stated in December 2025 that SSDs equipped with these new controllers will deliver performance more than 10 times higher than the previous generation. The goal is to boost 512 Gigabyte random read speeds to 100 million I/O operations per second (IOPS).

It is reported that FADU’s sixth-generation SSD controllers have recently completed development and will begin shipping in the second half of this year. Compared to the fifth-generation (Gen5) controllers, the new models offer more than double the performance, effectively reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO).

FADU is advancing a business initiative to bypass memory manufacturers and supply SSD controllers directly to server customers. The company aims to further expand its base of hyperscale clients, with Meta already secured as one of its major hyperscale customers.
