By: M 1 hour ago

August Revenue Continues Strong Momentum, September Needs Only NT$39.5 Billion to Meet Target

MediaTek announced that its consolidated revenue for August 2026 reached NT$64.183 billion, up 32.41% month-on-month and 44.08% year-on-year, setting a new historical monthly high; cumulative consolidated revenue for January to August this year reached NT$413.991 billion, up 5.76% year-on-year. Institutional analysts noted that the strong August performance was driven not only by warming demand for smart device platforms and flagship smartphone stockpiling, but also by shipment timing for certain products and exchange rate conversion, which contributed to revenue.

MediaTek's combined revenue for July and August has already reached NT$112.658 billion. September would need only about NT$39.5 billion to exceed the lower end of its third-quarter guidance of NT$152.2 billion, making it highly likely that the company will outperform its targets for the quarter.

Dimensity 9600 Series Dual-Track Layout, Brand Orders Drive Continued Revenue Growth in 2H26

On the new product front, MediaTek will hold its 2026 Dimensity flagship new product launch event on September 15, officially unveiling its next-generation Dimensity 9600 series platform with a dual-track strategy.

Dimensity 9600 Pro is the first to adopt TSMC's second-generation 2nm (N2P) process, making it the first 2nm flagship platform in the Android camp. It will debut in the vivo X500 Pro/Pro Max, with full support for the new generation of LPDDR6 memory, UFS 5.0, and on-device Agentic AI computing.

Dimensity 9600 adopts TSMC's enhanced 3nm process, debuting in the standard vivo X500, with subsequent OPPO Find series and Redmi K series flagship models also expected to adopt it.

The new flagship chips are expected to drive Android brand stockpiling in the fourth quarter, boosting MediaTek's average selling price and product mix for high-end smartphone chips. Supply chain sources noted that brand manufacturers have already placed large advance orders to prepare for the flagship replacement in the second half of the year, becoming an important foundation driving MediaTek's continued revenue growth in the second half.

Edge AI and Cloud AI Dual Engines Take Shape, 2026 Data Center AI Chip Revenue Expected to Exceed US$2 Billion

MediaTek's first cloud AI ASIC is expected to enter mass production in the fourth quarter, driving the company to gradually form a "edge AI & cloud AI" dual-engine setup. The company expects revenue from its data center AI chip business to exceed US$2 billion this year, with a second ASIC on track for mass production in 2028.

The market expects that with the Dimensity 9600 series launch event approaching and the cloud AI chip business gradually ramping up, MediaTek's dual layout in high-end smartphone chips and data center AI will enter a new period.
