Nanya Technology Accused of Infringing DRAM Patents Originally Owned by Intel

According to reports, Nanya Technology has been sued in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas by an NPE (non-practicing entity) named PowerWatch Systems LLC, which alleges infringement of two DRAM patents originally belonging to Intel. The complaint states that Nanya Technology's DDR3 and later-generation DRAM memory products infringe two patents including US7,281,079 and US7,432,731. The plaintiff claims that the patented technologies involve high-speed memory foundational technology and address performance bottlenecks in DRAM architecture. The products accused of infringement in this case include DRAM memory components, DDR3, DDR3(L) and DDR4 SDRAM, DIMMs, and specific product families such as Nanya's NT5U64m16GG and Nanya DDR4-8Gb C-Die. Notably, both patents had already expired before PowerWatch acquired them.
