Winbond Electronics' Q1 Contract Prices Surge Nearly 50%, Full-Year Capacity Already Sold Out

By: QIN 14 hours ago

According to Taiwan media outlet ,  Chen Pei-ming, General Manager of Winbond Electronics, a Taiwanese DRAM manufacturer, recently stated that DRAM contract prices continued their surge in the first quarter of 2026, increasing by nearly 50%. Market demand is exceptionally strong, and the company's entire capacity for this year (including any new capacity not yet operational) is completely sold out, with order visibility extending to 2028. Due to the extreme supply shortage, some customers have been forced to downgrade product specifications, such as switching to lower-capacity or older DDR3 chips.
