CFM Reports Latest DDR5 RDIMM Prices, Exceeding 100% Increase Compared to Last Quarter

By: CFM 12 hours ago

The memory capacity and bandwidth demands of AI training and inference workloads far surpass those of traditional applications. AI servers are now equipped with up to 3TB of DDR5 RDIMM per system, reflecting the rapidly growing demand from hyperscale cloud service providers for high-capacity memory. However, the annual increase in DRAM production capacity lags far behind the new memory demand driven by AI infrastructure expansion, leading to a sustained global memory of DRAM supply. In fact, memory supply bottlenecks are already constraining the growth of server shipments. AI cloud service providers now regard memory as a long-term strategic resource, significantly strengthening the pricing power of DRAM suppliers.

According to CFM data, contract prices for DDR5 64GB RDIMM range between USD 820 and 950, DDR5 96GB between USD 1,310 and 1,600, and DDR5 128GB between USD 2,100 and 2,400, reflecting an increase of 80% to 120% compared to the previous quarter. Spot prices for server DDR5 RDIMM are even higher than contract prices, with 64GB/96GB/128GB server DDR5 RDIMM prices ranging between USD 2,200 and 2,500, USD 3,800 and 4,000, and USD 4,200 and 4,300, respectively.

Today, Flash Wafer prices have risen across the board, with 1Tb QLC, 1Tb TLC, 512Gb TLC, and 256Gb TLC prices adjusted to USD 24.00, 25.00, 20.00, and 11.00, respectively. Compared to early November, prices have nearly doubled over the past quarter. Overall, original manufacturers continue to prioritize capacity allocation for the server market to meet the memory needs of core CSP customers. Meanwhile, SK Hynix, SanDisk, and other manufacturers indicated in their latest earnings calls that Q1 NAND bit shipments will decline quarter-on-quarter. It is expected that NAND supply will remain tight in the first half of this year, with limited availability for applications outside the server market.
