CAICT: China's January Mobile Phone Shipments Drop 16.1% YoY

According to the analysis report on the domestic mobile phone market operation for January 2026 released by CAICT, mobile phone shipments in the domestic market reached 22.866 million units in January 2026, with a year-on-year decrease of 16.1%. Among these, 5G mobile phone shipments totaled 19.87 million units, down 15.9% year-on-year, accounting for 86.9% of total mobile phone shipments during the period. At the same time, smartphone shipments amounted to 20.696 million units, with a year-on-year decline of 15.6%, representing 90.5% of total mobile phone shipments in the same period. A total of 32 new smartphone models were released, a year-on-year increase of 28.0%, accounting for 86.5% of all new mobile phone models launched during the month.
