A joint research team from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy, has successfully developed a light-controlled ultra-high-speed computer, whose computing speed is more than 100 times faster than the fastest existing electronic devices. This achievement is the first to demonstrate that light can not only transmit information but also be directly used for information processing, opening a new path for future breakthroughs in computer performance.
