According to foreign media reports, Phison Electronics CEO Kenneth Pan recently stated that due to the surge in AI demand, there is a severe imbalance between supply and demand for memory chips. Currently, the company can only meet 30% of customer demand, leaving a 70% order shortfall that cannot be addressed.
Pan pointed out that this shortage is mainly driven by the construction of AI data centers, exhibiting structural growth, rather than the cyclical fluctuations of traditional consumer electronics. Due to upstream manufacturers' cautious expansion, production capacity is unlikely to be released in the short term, and he expects the supply shortage to continue.
