A magnitude 7.7 strong earthquake struck off Aomori Prefecture around 4:53 p.m. on the 20th, prompting the Japan Meteorological Agency to issue tsunami warnings for the central Pacific coast of Hokkaido, the Pacific coast of Aomori Prefecture, and Iwate Prefecture. According to Japanese media reports, Kioxia’s two NAND flash memory plants in Iwate Prefecture have suspended operations for inspection following the earthquake. However, according to the latest response from sources close to the matter, the earthquake currently has no impact on Kioxia’s NAND Flash supply.
