According to a Korean media report, Samsung has delayed its initial mass production plans for its 10nm-class seventh-generation DRAM (1d DRAM, hereafter referred to as D1d) due to concerns that lower-than-expected yields could lead to a decline in return on investment (ROI). It is understood that Samsung had originally planned to begin actual trial production of D1d in the first quarter of this year after completing the pre-production approval (PRA) process. Samsung is currently conducting a comprehensive review of its process roadmap and is focusing its efforts on further improving yields.
