Micron has announced that it has started providing samples of its latest 256GB DDR5 RDIMM to key partners within the server ecosystem. Built on Micron's 1-gamma (1γ) process technology, the memory module achieves a maximum data transfer rate of 9200 MT/s, making it over 40% faster than currently mass-produced modules on the market. Compared to using two 128GB modules, a single 256GB module reduces operational power consumption by over 40%, delivering greater operational efficiency for modern AI data centers.
