Google Releases Gemini 3.5 Flash Model, 3.5 Pro Coming Next Month

At the Google I/O 2026 developer conference, Google officially released Gemini 3.5 Flash and announced that it would be made available for free to all users worldwide. It is said that Gemini 3.5 Flash stands out in terms of output speed, reaching over 280 tokens per second — four times faster than GPT-5.5 and Claude Opus 4.7. Google stated that with its balance of speed and performance, Gemini 3.5 Flash is well-suited for handling long-cycle agentic tasks. In addition, Google is currently accelerating development of the more advanced Gemini 3.5 Pro model. This model is already in internal use at Google and is expected to be officially launched in the market next month.
