Report Indicates Apple Increases Initial Foldable Device Orders, Boosting Business for TSMC, Foxconn, and Largan

By: M 2 days ago

According to media reports, Apple is set to release its first foldable device, the iPhone Fold, in the second half of the year. Supply chain sources indicate that Apple is highly confident in the sales performance of the new model and has significantly increased its component procurement target, raising it by 20% compared to the original plan. It marks a rare substantial upward revision in Apple's inventory preparation needs for a new product in recent years.

It is said that the supply chain division for the first-generation iPhone Fold has been largely finalized, with four Taiwanese companies playing key roles. Foxconn will handle the final assembly, TSMC will produce the processors, Largan Precision will supply the high-end camera lenses, and SZS will provide the critical hinge components.

Foxconn, Largan Precision, and TSMC are expected to receive more orders. Shipments of key components are scheduled to begin between the end of the second quarter and the third quarter of this year, with the official product launch targeted for before the end of the year.
