Samsung's 4nm Foundry Capacity Reportedly Running at Full Utilization, 5nm Orders Surge

Industry sources indicate that due to near-full capacity utilization of its 4nm process node, Samsung has adjusted its strategy and is actively promoting its mature and cost-competitive 5nm process to attract both domestic and international fabless customers. It is said that the high utilization of the 4nm production lines is mainly attributed to a surge in orders for high-bandwidth memory (HBM4) from Samsung Electronics' internal business units. Since the 5nm process is also suitable for manufacturing high-performance server chips, licensing agreements with overseas fabless companies continue to be signed, and over the past three to four months, customer demand for the 5nm process has increased significantly.
