French AI company Mistral invests $1.4 billion in Sweden to build data center

French artificial intelligence startup Mistral AI recently announced that it will invest €1.2 billion (approximately $1.43 billion) to build a new data center in Sweden. The facility, located in Borgengår, will be built in partnership with Swedish data center operator EcoDataCenter and is expected to be operational in 2027. It will deploy NVIDIA's latest GPUs to support the training and deployment of Mistral's next-generation AI models.
