Reports indicate that ASML's next-generation EUV lithography machine is ready for mass production

By: QIN 20 hours ago

According to foreign media reports, industry insiders revealed that ASML's next-generation high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machine is ready for delivery to chip manufacturers for mass production. Currently, the machine's downtime has been significantly reduced, it has processed 500,000 silicon wafers, and it can etch high-precision patterns required for chip circuits. These three indicators suggest that the machine is ready for mass production.

Despite the technological maturity, chip manufacturers still need 2 to 3 years of testing and development before integrating it into their mass production processes. Currently, the machine's utilization rate is approximately 80%, and ASML plans to increase it to 90% by the end of the year. The machine costs approximately $400 million, twice the cost of the first-generation EUV lithography machine.
