On March 24th, Alibaba DAMO Academy released its flagship processor, XuanTie C950, at the XuanTie RISC-V Ecosystem Conference. This chip uses a 5nm process, has a main frequency of 3.2GHz, and is equipped with a native AI computing engine. Its single-core AI computing power reaches 8 TFLOPS, and its measured typical algorithm performance is 2 to 3 times higher than the industry average, with an average execution efficiency exceeding 90%. Leveraging the open-source nature of RISC-V, the XuanTie C950 is the first to natively support large models with hundreds of billions of parameters, such as Qwen3 and DeepSeek V3, successfully running full-fledged top-tier open-source models, and is expected to become a new type of high-end CPU in the AI Agent era.
