China's Largest Scientific AI Computing Cluster Put into Operation in Zhengzhou

By: QIN 3 hours ago

On April 14, China's largest scientific AI computing cluster was officially put into operation at the National Supercomputing Internet Core Node in Zhengzhou. This marks a key breakthrough in the country's computing infrastructure for AI-driven scientific research (AI for Science), positioning China to seize the high ground in AI industrial applications.

The core node began trial operation on February 5 this year, initially offering a supercomputing cluster of over 30,000 domestic AI accelerator chips to provide large-scale AI computing power. On April 14, the number of AI accelerator chips was upgraded to 60,000, enabling the Supercomputing Internet to build the country's largest scientific AI computing infrastructure and simultaneously launch the "Super Scientific Computing Agent" strategy.

According to reports, the core node has established an integrated, inclusive domestic ecosystem of "data, computing, models, and applications," bringing together diverse datasets and tools, as well as thousands of open-source large models, enabling rapid deployment and development. On the Supercomputing Internet platform, users no longer need to deal with complex software configuration or IT processes. By simply making requests in natural language, the "Super Scientific Computing Agent" can automatically break down tasks, call models, schedule computing power, and complete end-to-end delivery, greatly shortening the time required for research tasks.

The completion of this cluster achieves a full-stack, super-intelligent convergence upgrade from general artificial intelligence to AI-driven scientific research, providing replicable experience for national computing power coordination. In the future, this infrastructure will continue to follow an open path, covering all scenarios in research and industry, offering accessible and easy-to-use services, helping China achieve greater breakthroughs in the AI field and take the lead in global technological competition.
